T e - A T A W H A I
I love that girl Te-Atawhai
she reminds me of my innerchild
I love that girl Te-Atawhai,
she reminds me of my innerchild..

Piggy backing her half way home to the soccer park
I’d ridden past 5 hours before
In Berhampmore,
not feeling the weight of her at all....
so engaged in the nite, the action, breakin, jazmin
feeling the love...
of her 23 kilos against my cozy ... 54
and i love that girl Te-Atawhai she reminds me of my inner child.

So to uncle Kahus after the breakin,
i learned one move,so happy ,just to learn that
Walking to Newtown pushing Te-Atawhai up the hill on my mountain bike,
her body strung across
Maru takes off down the hill, resting his foot
Te-Atawhai and me holding hands crossin the street...
We stay with Kahu, Maru reading him Mind changing life changing stuff
its rubbin off on the people around....
I want to massage Maru there, I can while he’s reading
Give his feet some Love...
Te-Atawhai helps picking the soft grass, the dandelion leaves,
she’s making a cake She’s eating the pink icing....

And i love that girl. Te-Atawhai she reminds me of my innerchild

((We leave the heavy and the sweet we walk slowly homewards
Te-Atawhai on my back, her hands clasped around my neck
Were walking up Hanson street in the nite lights
past where Nanna Oakley lived in those flats
I used to visit her on the weekends for a coffee and a bath
We’re talking, walking , smellin the Jazmin)) not in released version

And when we get to the park its time for Te-Atawhai to walk
on soft grass across the park ,up the trail in the dark,
up that windy hill to Kingston heights and down the road to the house on
stilts..
we sit on the stairs for a while, (dads on the phone )
lookin up the sky we see a satellite ,moving above our heads
And if you look at one patch of sky for 7 minutes you will see a shooting
star.......

I love that girl Te-atawahi she reminds me of my inner child

Inside its time for Te-Atawhai to go to bed...
i read her a bedtime story and switch off the light
i enjoy being her mum for a nite...

and in the morning, i feel a lot of love for him
i wonder what i can do as he gets Te-Atawhai ready for school...

i ride home in the morning traffic in the mist

And its Clare’s birthday and i wanted to see her
I’m so tired and i cant talk about this to those
committed couples and me wanting it so much with a
playboy and his daughter Te-Atawhai

I love that girl Te-Atawhai she reminds me of my inner child....
